FAQ
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused relaxation - similar to daydreaming or deep meditation. It allows your busy mind to quiet down so your subconscious mind can respond to positive suggestions and release unhelpful patterns. You are always in control during the process - it simply feels calm, peaceful, and deeply focused.
What if I am skeptical or nervous?
That’s completely normal. Many first-time clients tell me they weren’t sure what to expect — but left feeling calm, safe, and surprised at how natural hypnosis felt. You don’t have to “believe” in it for it to work. All that’s needed is an open mind and a willingness to relax.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Most people can be hypnotized — as long as you’re willing and open to the process. Hypnosis isn’t about being “under someone’s control”; it’s about allowing yourself to relax and focus inward. Most people find it surprisingly easy to enter a hypnotic state, even during their very first session.
Will I lose control or reveal personal secrets?
No — this is one of the biggest myths about hypnosis. You remain fully aware, in control, and can stop at any time. You’ll hear every word and remember your session clearly. My role is to gently guide you, not to control you. You’ll always feel safe, respected, and supported.
What happens during a session?
We’ll begin by talking about what you’d like to work on and any patterns or emotions that have been challenging you. Then, I’ll guide you into a calm, focused state using relaxation and gentle suggestion. You’ll remain awake, aware, and comfortable throughout. Most clients describe the experience as deeply relaxing and refreshing — like a mental reset.
How should I prepare for my first session?
Wear comfortable clothing, find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed by noise, people, or pets. Please be able to position your device (tablet, phone, computer) so that I can monitor you throughout the session.
Some people like to have a glass of water beside them. There’s nothing special you need to do — just bring an open mind and the intention to care for yourself.
Are sessions confidential?
Absolutely! Anything said is sessions will be regarded as confidential and will not be disclosed. If you would like me to share session information with a third party, such as a medical professional, it is completely up to you. You can request and sign a Release of Confidential Information form.
Is hypnosis covered by insurance?
Most insurance companies do not reimburse hypnosis. I will provide you with a receipt for the session stating the purpose of the session and you can send it to your insurance company if you wish.
